I've learned so much from this messageboard I thought I should post this information for what it might be worth. I have just taken delivery on a JD 4400 and 513 rotary cutter; still to come is a 420 loader and JD posthole digger; all for a package price of $20,500. Delivery time from date of order was exactly three months. I got four quotes and this was the best, though this was the dealer I most wanted, and the others might have come down if I had haggled more. I considered the Massey and the NH Boomer, but finally settled on the JD. I have just started using the tractor and am not disappointed.

At least in Wisconsin, if the tractor is for a farm [or equivalent] there is no sales tax. All you need is a farm number or cooperative dealer. Not sure what the stor is for other states. ....
